Timmy
AI bot that did my junior dev tasks through Discord, ClickUp, and GitHub.
Timmy automated the junior developer loop end to end: a task described in Discord becomes a ClickUp ticket, then code, then a GitHub pull request waiting for review. It ran as a CLI bot inside a team Discord server with access to both ClickUp and GitHub. The repository is open source, with CI running type checking, linting and Jest on every pull request and a separate workflow publishing a multi-architecture Docker image.
Problem
The target was the loop being run by hand every day at work: discuss the task on Discord, open the ClickUp ticket, implement it, raise the pull request, wait for senior review. Timmy took each step. A mention in Discord triggers an analysis pass over the conversation history, which becomes a ClickUp task; a polling loop picks it up sixty seconds later.
Solution
Each task runs through five stages, with a different model on each:
- Investigation — Claude - Analysis — Gemini - Implementation — Claude - Review — Codex - Fixes — Claude
Implementation happens inside an isolated git worktree: the agent writes the code, commits, pushes a task-scoped branch and opens the pull request through the GitHub CLI. Discord conversation runs on a separate model, Grok 4 Fast, so casual chat never touches the coding pipeline.
Tasks are processed strictly one at a time, which keeps the agent and a human out of each other's way in the same repository. Full isolation — running the agent inside a Docker sandbox with a kill switch — was designed, but only the foundation was built and the supervisor module was never wired into the live pipeline. That is where the project stopped.
Outcome
Paused rather than abandoned, at 126 commits between October 2025 and April 2026. The cycle ran end to end — task raised in Discord, ticket opened in ClickUp, code written in an isolated worktree, pull request opened. What stayed unfinished is the sandbox: the plan is written, the first phase is built, and nothing past it is wired up.
